Our Unit of Nutrition and Dietetics (UND)  aims to meet the nutritional needs of patients, respecting personal

preferences and medical advice.It is  designed to enhance the role of nutrition in clinical recovery and ensure

customer satisfaction through the preparation of  safe and tasty meals.It is divided in three sub-units.

 

 

Clinical Nutrition: plays a very important role in the patients recovery.The team meets to discuss what is the

best diet before and after surgery.It provides sound nutrition recommendations according to individual needs.

Prior to surgery, an assessment of your current intake is completed, along with education regarding the initial

stages of the diet after surgery. Potential food-related problems and possible ways to solve them are also

reviewed.


Production: elaborates appropriate menus according to prescribed diets, assures the quality control in food

preparation, controls and regulates food coming from outside sources which are released only if  prescribed by

the doctor in charge of the patient;


 

Administration: oversees, provides and evaluates the work of employees of the UND, through

administrative rules and procedures, coordinates training and education programs for staff, prepares monthly

reports.
